“Haeundae” near Busan draws one million visitors to its beaches every year. Man-sik, a native of Haeundae, lost his co-worker to the 2004 tsunami on a deep-sea fishing trip. Rightly afraid of the sea, he now leads a simple life running a small seafood restaurant and is preparing to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Yeon-hee. 영화 “해운대”는 매년 백만명의 사람들이 찾는 부산의 유명한 휴양지입니다. 이 해운대 토박이인 만식은 2004년 원양어선을 타고 인도양에 나갔다가 쓰나미로 인해 동료를 잃은 뒤 동생과 함께 작은 횟집을 운영하고 있습니다. 만식은 어릴 적 부터 함께 자란 연희에게 조심스럽게 오랫동안 간직해왔던 마음을 표현합니다.

Away from the scene, geologist Kim Hwi, an expert on tsunami research, discovers the East Sea is showing signs of activity similar to the Indian Ocean at the time of the 2004 tsunami. Despite his warnings, the Disaster Prevention Agency affirms that Korea is in no harm of being hit.

한편, 쓰나미에 대해 연구 중이던 지질학자 김휘는 한반도에도 2004년 인도네시아를 덥쳤던 거대한 쓰나미가 올 수 있다는 걸 발견합니다. 이해 대한 위험성을 알리려 재난 방지청을 찾아 경고하지만 대한민국에 쓰나미가 덥칠 확률은 극히 희박하다며 무시당하고 맙니다.

When he discovers a mega-tsunami is headed straight for the Korean peninsula, he quickly heads down to Haeundae, where he runs into his ex-wife for the first time in seven years and meets his young daughter who he has never met before. Eventually, Kim gets a call about a deadly oncoming wave and with little time to warn the people of Haeundae.

한반도를 향해 돌진 하고 있는 거대한 쓰나미를 발견하자마자 재빨리 해운대로 향한 그는 때마침 엑스포 행사 준비로 부산에 내려온 전 부인과 7년 만에 처음 보는 자신의 딸과 마주치게 됩니다. 마침내 그의 경고대로 거대한 파도가 해운도를 향하고 있다는 전화를 받는데요, 이제 해운대에 몰린 수 많은 사람들을 대피시킬 시간은 조금 밖에 남지 않았습니다.

The film stars Seol Kyeong-gu, Ha Ji-won, Park Joong-hoon , and Uhm Jung-hwa. It was directed by Yoon Je-kyoon. 영화 배우 설경구, 하지원, 박중훈, 엄정화 씨가 출연한 윤제균 감독의 영화입니다.
